Monday 5th January 2018.

  1.  I have given all children a paper plate which we will make into a mask.   Make holes for the eyes. Look for ‘paper plate masks’ on Google and prepare your design.  Prepare any cut outs so tomorrow we will paint them at school.  

  2. Social Studies for Thursday Pages 14, 15, 16 and 17.  Do some research on shops in past times.

  3. Abacus W.B Page 21.

  4. English plurals ‘ies’ on handout.  Revise and study from study Notes Page 79.

  5. Maths Capacity handout.

  6. Revise Tables of 2, 3, 4 and 5 and Weight.

  7. Study the following words for assessment on Thursday:

Friday 2nd February 2018.

  2. Copy or type ‘I am an Alien’ on project book.  Draw the alien.

  5. At home, use a 2 litre bottle, a litre bottle, a 250ml bottle and a 500ml bottle to play capacity games.  You can record your answers on white copybook.

Wednesday 31st January 2018.

  1. Maths SSM Page 8.

  2. Revise for Opposites and Adjectives Assessments for tomorrow (we did not have time today).  We will also have the N19 assessment, revise taking away 10 and taking away 11.

  3. Imagine you are an alien.  Use the questions in the handout to help you write some points.  Very sorry about the large black part but printer is not working well today.

Tuesday 30th January 2018.

  1. WELL DONE TO THOSE CHILDREN WHO ADDED MORE LEARNINGAPPS.  YOU CAN ADD MORE GAMES LINKED TO THE LESSONS WE DO EVERYDAY.

  2. Continue English Comprehension ‘The Cold Planet’.  Those who would like to listen to the story again, can click here.

  3. Continue to write the keywords in rainbow colours like we did at school.  You can use this method for all new words.

  4. Think and Learn Page 64.

  5. Maths Clockwise/Anticlockwise handout.

  6. English handout.  There are children who are writing on the handout and others who are copying it on red copybook.

  7. Please list two items which you can prepare for Carnival party, I will choose one item.

  8. Tomorrow, I will be waiting for Jake’s grandma, Gabriel’s grandpa, Elisa’s grandpa and Mylene’s grandma at the side door from where children used to go out in Year 1 and Year 2 at 10:55am.  All children have to prepare questions about shops and shopping in old times to ask the grandparents.

Monday 29th January 2018.

  6. On the 9th February we are going to celebrate Carnival at school.  I am asking the children to get something to share with their friends at school.  If you would like to send something please write two options so I can choose from on the Extrawork copybook.  I will tick one (so we won’t have a lot of the same item).  I can warm pre-cooked items at school but preferably something that has been cooked in the morning so we just serve it.

Friday 26th January 2018.

  1. Add more learningapp games and play the ones the other children are doing.  These will serve as a fun revision.

  2. I would to like to invite the Mylene’s grandma, Elisa’s grandpa and Gabriels’ grandpa on Wednesday 31st January at 11 o’clock.  Children will be asking questions about shops and shopping in the old times.  Entrance is from near the secretary’s office but if need be, I will be able to meet these gradparents near the kitchen garden door (from where children used to go out in Year 1 and Year 2) and we go up with the lift.  Please send me a note if you need the lift.

  3. Maths, Number Textbook Page 14 on brown copybook.

  4. Maltese handout Ex B from side 1 and Ex B from side 2 on green copybook.  Some children have the same exercises but on one handout, write on it.

  5. Study Maltese ‘Verbi’ and ‘Kuntrarju tal-Verbi’.

  6. Bring empty containers which have litres (l) and millilitres (ml) written on them.  Will use these on Wednesday 31st.

  7. Social Studies Page 13.

I would like to encourage all the others to add more games.  Here are some ideas:

match noun with an adjective; prounous; animals.  Use the Study note to help you as this will serve as a revision.

Thursday 25th January 2018.

  1. Study Adjectives and Opposites for Assessment on Wednesday.

  2. Study the following words for Monday:

heavy, light, empty, full, morning, night, old, young, smile, frown, happy, sad, deep, shallow, sharp, blunt

3. Study N19 for Maths Assessment, revise -10 and -11.

4. Dear parents, I still need a grandparent to come to school, kindly send me a note if available.  The date was planned for Wednesday 31st but it can be changed.

5. Maths Abacus W.B. 2 Pages 17 and 18.

6. Study from Study Notes N20, Page 27.

7. English handout, write on red copybook.  Children who have a different handout (same sentences but more space where to write), can write on it.

8. Think of Maltese verbs which have an opposite.  Handout Paper 3 Ex A on green copybook.

9. Copy or type ‘Il-Karnival’ on project book.  This is for Monday.

10. Today we had an ICT lesson and children learnt how to do online games.  Go on learningapps.org

Wednesday 24th January 2018.

  1. Abacus W.B. 2 Pages 15 and 16.

  2. English handout, continue the side we started at school.  Some children have have another two different handouts, write on them and do not forget to write your name.

  3. Tomorrow bring the Oxford Reading Tree book.

  4. Social Studies for Monday Pages 11 and 12.  On the bottom part of page 11 you have to identify any health and safety risks in your street/village.  On page 12, you have to write a letter either to the Headmistress or to the village mayor to tell them about these risks.
