Materials for Art lessons

  1. For Art lessons children will need 1 apron or old large T-shirt, 1 set of watercolours, 2 paintbrushes (1 thick, 1 thin), 1 black fine tip marker or black pen.  Everything should be labelled.  Bring them on Monday.

  2. Those who do not have a highlighter, please bring one any colour.

Monday 9th October 2017

  1. Study A or An from Study Book Page 65.

  2. From ‘Links’ you can find games for A or An.

  3. Study Maths, N4 Money Page 5 from Study Book.

  4. English handout Paper 1 Ex A (if you have time you can do Paper 1 Ex B as well) and Paper 2 Ex A on red copybook.  Those children who have other handouts, write on them and stick them on red copybook.

  5. Maths Abacus W.B. 1 Page 9.

  6. At home, take different amounts of coins up to 99c and count them.  You can play the game Shopping Spree from ‘Links’.

Friday 6th October 2017

  1. Maths ‘Length’ on handout.

  2. Copy or type and print ‘My Best Friend’ from purple copybook onto project book (write on second page as we did for Maltese).  Draw your best friend or find a picture.

  3. We had a session at the school library today.  Read the book and you can leave it at home until Friday 13th.

  4. Maltese handout Ex E and F on green copybook.

Thursday 5th October 2017

  1. Please remember that tomorrow children have to come in their P.E. kit.  The long tracksuit trousers are still too warm for all day comfort so I suggest that children come in their shorts, T-Shirt and tracksuit jacket.  

  2. Do not change into the winter uniform until the Headmistress informs all students and parents.

  3. Maths on brown copybook ‘Draw lines of 3cm, 6cm, 7cm, 8cm, 10cm, 5cm and 1cm.  Draw 3 shapes and write the length of each each’.

  4. Malti Manija Page 3.

  5. From Study Notes, revise and study Pages 91, 92, 93 and 94.

  6. Maltese comprehension ‘L-iskola Tieghi’.

  7. For tomorrow write five to eight sentences in English as points about your best friend on Extra work copybook.

  8. Bring a highlighter and a drawing book to be kept in class.  This is for Monday.

Wednesday 4th October 2017

  1. Animal Awareness Day has been postponed for the 11th October.

  2. On the Extrawork copybook, use the centimetre ruler to draw lines of different lengths.  Write the length on each line.

  3. Study M1 and M2 from Study File.

  4. Maths SSM W.B. Pages 1 and 2.

  5. Cover in clear plastic the Maltese Comprehension booklet and finish Ex C of ‘Il-Familja Tieghi’.  Read the story again and check your answers of Ex A and B.

  6. Please bring the 50c for the PSCD booklet if you have not done so already.

  7. Children have a new class library book to read.  Some children have also the Oxford Reading Tree book.

  8. Type and print or copy ‘Jiena Nnifsi’ creative writing on second lined page of project book.  On the kartoncina decorate, draw or stick a picture of yourself.  This is for Friday.

Tuesday 3rd October 2017

  1.  Friday 6th Swimming session has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

  2.  Please bring 50c for PSCD workbook.  On the front cover of the blue workbook, stick a picture of yourself or anything you like and cover in clear plastic.

  3. Maths ‘ Think and Learn’ Page 17.

  4. Read Way Ahead Pupil’s Book Unit 1 and ‘Where is Mr Strong?’

  5. Way Ahead Workbook Pages 7 and 8.

  6. Cut around all the eight flowers and punch a hole in the middle of each flower.

  1. Read Way Ahead Pupil’s Book Unit 2 and revise conversations like we did in class.

  2. Way Ahead Workbook Pages 2, 3, 4 and 5. 

  3. Maths WB 1 Pages 7 and 8.

  4. Study N3 ‘Making 10’ Page 3 from Study Notes.

  5. From ‘Links’ find the games ‘Making 10’.

  6. Use the deck cards to play the Make 10 game.

  7. Sign Maths Assessment and return to school.

Friday 29th September 2017

  1. Maths ‘Think and Learn’ Page 4.

  2. Malti Manija Page 2. Cover the book.

  3. On Monday we have the first Maths Assessment for N1 and N2.  Study like the example below:

Write how many tens and ones:  56 = 5 tens 6 units

Fill in the missing numbers:  14         16;       31                      

Write the total amount of money (use real coins to practice, use only 10c and 1c up to 99c)

4. We are going to have three swimming sessions on the following dates: Friday 6th October;  Friday 13th October and Friday 20th October.  Fill in the form we have sent you.  On these dates, children have to come to school in their P.E. kit, wearing their swimsuit underneath.  They should bring a towel, underwear, plastic bag for wet things and a pair of plastic flip-flops.

5. Please send the €11 if you have not done so already.

6. Remember to get the real coins and the pack of deck cards without Jokers, Kings and Queens.
